My kids discovered something both fun and educational, the Greek pack of Goofy Bands.  They contain the entire Greek alphabet 24 letters in various colors.  It was fun to show them the old sorrority letters spelled out.  We were going to learn the Greek Alphabet to go with a history unit and working with the bands was much more fun that a written handout.  It even brought back college memories for mom.  I’m sure they must be quite popular among the Greek college students!

My kids and I were swimming with friends a few weeks ago.  I was talking with some moms when my daughter swam up excitedly waving something.  She couldn’t wait to show me what she found while diving in the pool.  I thought it must be something pretty special.  And it was - to her.   She had found a Goofy Band  in the water.  You would have thought it was gold!  I think it was a jet from the new Military Pack.  Too bad it wasn’t a submarine!  The new Military Pack has four each of six shapes Aircraft Carrier, Submarine, Helicopter, Jet, Tank and Truck in assorted colors.  Wonder what we’ll find next time?

What do older kids want for rewards from the prize drawer at the doctor?  Do they want pencils? Unfortunately, our family has enough from previous years, that we may never need to buy pencils again.   So that would be a no.  Do they want stickers?  No, they are kind of past the sticker stage.  Medical Bands seem to fill the bill.  The new Medical Band pack from Goofy Bands contains colorful representations of items youngsters see around their doctor’s office like gloves, bandages, stethoscopes, otoscopes (instruments for checking ears, eyes, and throats), reflex testers, and syringes.   No one loves to go to the doctor especially when it’s summer and you’re only missing out on playtime and not even getting out of school but if you have to go, coming home with a cool new band is a great consolation!

My eleven year old daughter was very down that we couldn’t celebrate the Fourth of July with friends due to her falling ill.  I had gone to my local Target for more Motrin and to see if I could find something to lift her spirits.  I found the new Watercraft Goofy Bands.  The Watercraft pack contains speed boats, bass boats, sail boats, pontoon boats, yachts, and jet skis.  She was very tickled when she got more than Motrin for her Fourth of July weekend.  Her brother even got in on the action and came up with a few swaps so he could add some Watercrafts to his collection.  We were able to recall past holidays when we had seen and actually been on some of the various watercrafts.  This perked everyone up!

Is it the “HELP” band? Is it the “911″ band? My kids think it’s both that have led to great success for Goofy Bands’ Emergency pack. Not to mention the police car and fire truck.  They’re pretty cool, too.

My son pointed out that the tow truck may be an unlikely shape in the Emergency pack. Maybe even an “under rated” or overlooked Emergency vehicle.  However, from personal experience, we are so grateful for the tow truck and driver that rescued us, two hours away from home, following an interstate tire blowout last year. The sight of the tow truck on the horizon made us all breathe a sigh of relief on that particular day.  My two kids will NEVER forget that tow truck as it arrived to save the day!

I am thrilled to see the new Greek Letters pack offered by Goofy Bands!  As a young college pledge, one of my most dreaded tasks was memorizing and reciting the letters of the Greek alphabet on my road to initiation.  What a great learning tool this would’ve been.

I’m sure young men and women affiliated with any Greek organization (social, education, Christian, business, etc.) will seek out their own Greek Letters in the Goofy Bands pack.  The letters come in randomly assorted colors, too.  It’s going to be interesting to see how many letter and color combinations may be acquired and collected.  Sounds like a fun new game for college campuses nationwide!
